The DevOps Katas

Learning Virtual Machine

Includes a sample of the Docker Katas chapter!

What is the DevOps Katas LVM?

The DevOps Katas Learning Virtual Machine is a free companion to the book. It is an Ubuntu-based virtual machine, pre-configured with tools and supporting materials, so you can get started learning immediately.

The book is on the way, but you can try out the companion LVM right now. If you are already familiar with VirtualBox and/or Vagrant, you can be up and running in a few minutes.

Why Do I Need It?

The user experience of the tools covered in DevOps Katas varies widely from Windows to Mac. The LVM provides a consistent learning experience, regardless of your desktop platform. Instead of spending the first few hours setting up the tools, you can run the LVM, which includes everything you need to get started.

I don't know Linux! What are you doing to me?

You don't need to know Linux. Every tool you'll need (Firefox, the text editor, and the Terminal) are on the Launcher. The book will walk you through every step. You might learn a few Bash and Linux commands along the way. It's good for you!
